One is the method. The other is blank paper with the method's name on it.
Verdict
Buy the book, not the journal. The Artist's Way contains the whole twelve week programme, including the morning pages instruction that the companion journal is named after. The Morning Pages Journal is essentially bound blank paper with a short introduction and quotations, and morning pages by design require nothing but blank paper. If you like the object, it is a nice object. It teaches you nothing the book does not.

You want the programme. The morning pages instruction is three pages long, but the surrounding structure is what makes people finish: a weekly theme, a set of tasks, and the artist date that most readers skip and then discover was the important half. Whether the underlying theory holds up is a separate question from whether the structure gets people writing, and it does.

You already know the method, you want a dedicated book for the practice, and you would rather have this than a plain notebook. That is a legitimate preference and there is nothing wrong with it. Just know you are buying paper and presentation, not instruction, and that a fifteen dollar notebook with more pages will do the same job.

Expressive writing generally has a modest research base, most of it built on structured writing about difficult experiences rather than on three pages of unfiltered longhand every morning. Morning pages specifically have not been studied. Many people find them clarifying. That is a reasonable reason to try them and not the same as a demonstrated effect.
Three pages a day is roughly 1,100 pages a year, which is four or five average notebooks. This is worth knowing before you commit to an expensive notebook line.
It overlaps. Unfiltered daily writing surfaces material you would not have chosen to write about, which is close to what shadow work is trying to do. It has no framework for what to do with what surfaces, which is where a dedicated shadow work practice differs.
